Leadership Training For Company Weekly Ads

If you have read my articles then it’s obvious my commitment to leadership and training. I personally feel these are the two most important and overlooked commitments of ensuring success.

Your company has spent a lot of money attempting to increase your customer base with advertising, expecting leadership to maximize sales and increase your close rate. The customer reads the ad and is excited about the deal to only be aggravated; your team has no knowledge of the advertisement.

This is a failure of leadership and providing your team with weekly training. Most companies have their ads available to customers on Sunday but the stores receive their copies on Wednesday.

Let’s be smart, look at your Sunday schedule and ensure that everyone on Sundays schedule has been advised of the new ad. In a previous article I discussed the importance of daily training for the morning and afternoon shifts, the ad normally last for a week and this is a no brainer to figure out.

Discuss with your team the special sales of which drives customers into the store. Supervisors of the department with the biggest sales should be scheduled and expected to drive sales.

Should associates be aware of sales in their department only to maximize sales? No they need to be keen to all sales. Let me give you an example: Bob and Sally are new to the area and need new appliances; during the sale you have discovered that they also need internet and High Definition TV. If your company can provide all of these services then this is a complete solution which maximizes your sales incredibly.

I have seen a small sale turn into a monster sale as the associate developed a relationship with a customer and provided them with a total solution and long term customer loyalty and retention.

I strongly suggest that you emphasis the importance of weekly ads and embrace training into your weekly schedule to support them.
